Montreal Surprises Everybody At Last Night's NHL Draft

Here are the latest headlines.

NHL

The Montreal Canadiens shocked the hockey world at last night's entry draft when the club picked Slovakian, Juraj Slafkovsky first overall.

Central scouting had Shane Wright being picked first overall.

Wright was, instead, picked fourth overall by the Seattle Kraken.

In other NHL news, the Detroit Red Wings have acquired Ville Husso from the St. Louis Blues for a draft pick.

The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired Tony DeAngelo from the Carolina Hurricanes for draft picks.

The New Jersey Devils have acquired Vitek Vanecek from the Washington Capitals for draft picks.

Finally, the Toronto Blue Jays have placed Yusel Kikuchi on the 15-day injured list with neck strain.
