The Columbus Blue Jackets have hired John Davidson as president of hockey operations.

Davidson has signed a five-year contract with Columbus.

Davidson was fired by the New York Rangers on May 7.



John Davidson is now with the Blue Jackets.

Columbus has also extended general manager, Jarmo Kekalainen's contract.
