Stroman's Not Too Happy Being Traded To The Mets

I was away for a few days.

I got quite of few news items to get to, especially in the National Hockey League.

First, I have to start with Major League Baseball because there was a big trade on the weekend.

MLB

As you probably already know, the Toronto Blue Jays have traded Marcus Stroman to the New York Mets for Simeon Woods Richardson and Anthony Kay.

Word has it that Stroman wasn't too pleased with the trade.  Apparently, he wanted to go to the New York Yankees.

Too bad Marcus.  You don't always get what you want.

(Top) Marcus Stroman is now a Met.

The Blue Jays made two more trades on the weekend.

Toronto traded Eric Sogard to the Tampa Bay Rays for two players named later.

The Blue Jays also traded David Phelps to Chicago Cubs for pitching prospect, Thomas Hatch.

NHL

The Tampa Bay Lightning have traded Ryan Callahan to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Mike Condon.

The Lightning have also re-signed goalie, Andrei Vasilevskiy to a eight-year, $76 million contract extension.

With that price, Vasilevskiy better stop more pucks next year.

The Calgary Flames have re-signed David Rittich to a two-year, $5.5 million contract extension.

The Minnesota Wild have fired their general manager, Paul Fenton, after a year with the team.

The New Jersey Devils have acquired Nikita Gusev from the Vegas Golden Knight's for a 2020 third-round draft pick and a 2021 second-round pick.

The New York Rangers have re-signed Pavel Buchnevich to a $6.5 million contract extension.

The Detroit Red Wings have re-signed Dominic Turgeon to a one-year contract.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired John Marino from the Edmonton Oilers for a conditional draft pick.

The Buffalo Sabres have signed Evan Rodrigues to a one-year, $2 million contract.

The St. Louis Blues have acquired Andreas Borgman from the Toronto Maple Leafs for Jordan Schmaltz.

NFL

Finally, the Detroit Lions have signed Fredrick Jones and released Brandon Reilly,
